Works Like a Champ
Wanted a tripod style laser level but thought they would be too expensive. Found this very inexpensive one that looked like it would fit the bill. Used it to install some pictures on the wall and it made the job very easy. The laser was extremely bright and easily visible under any lighting condition. The auto leveling was good and the carrying case indeed added to the nice package. The only negative, which was not that big a deal, was the tripod. Since it only extends to 39" it is useless for hanging pictures, unless you like them really low on the wall. I ended up using a ladder with some boxes on it to have the laser at the level I wanted. I have a camera tripod but it would not go up that high. Maybe there is some sort of tripod extension that screws into the head, don't know. All in all this inexpensive made the job oh so very easy. Would recommend.

Cheap, well designed and very useful
This is not a heavy duty construction laser like a DeWalt or Milwaukee. That being said, at 10% of the price of those brands this is a great little laser set including case and tripod useful for hanging pictures and doing smaller home jobs. The green laser light is bright and easy to see. The tripod fits in the case too which is great. It even drops a plumb line too. Simple to use with adequate instructions. Rechargeable so no batteries are needed. I couldn't be happier with this and several friends are ordering one too.

Acceptable Quality for the Price
I am a DIYer and my personal skill is my biggest limitation on precision. Thus, I didn't want to spend a lot of money one the world's best laser level because my skill wouldn't allow me to use that precision. This laser level was a bargain price and will serve my purposes. There are a couple of things about it that cause me to only give four stars.1) There is no indication as to when it is fully charged. One has to just leave it plugged in for a long time and assume that it is charged enough. There ought to be a light that changes color or turns off, but there isn't.2) When in the self leveling mode, it is very sensitive to vibrations of the floor from merely walking around and the self-leveling mechanism amplifies the slight vibration of the floor. I don't have a lot of experience with self leveling laser levels, but if I had paid $60 or $100 for one and it behaved like this I would be returning it. As it is, for this price point I can live with it, but I might often be manually leveling it to eliminate the shaking. Perhaps my expectations are unreasonable, but I suspect that higher priced levels have some sort of damping for the self leveling mechanism.3) The manual illustrations do not match the actual device (the manual warns this is possible). Because the manual refers to the lock/unlock switch as the power switch and what I think is the power switch as the "Control Panel," the mismatch of illustrations takes some experimentation. These is also a passage that says to remove the battery if you aren't going to use the level of awhile, but the rechargeable battery isn't removable. Once one decodes the controls, it is easy to operate. The tripod works well enough, but it is only 40 inches high, so one will often wish for/need something taller if hanging pictures or shelves etc. A ladder will work for this type of level. The laser is more than bright enough for indoor use on the lowest setting. The brightness of the line drops off to the left and right of the crossing point but is still very usable over the scanning width. The vertical line seems to be more uniform away from the crossing point. The magnet for the magnetic mount is quite strong on exposed metal, but the attraction to a drywall screw in a wall wasn't sufficient to support the level on the bracket. The level itself is a sturdy plastic cube and seems like it will holdup well if treated gently when the self leveling is unlocked. In summary, this is a bargain priced laser level that will probably serve a DIYer well. It might frustrate a professional, but most professional construction people I know never go for bargain priced equipment.

Very functional
Brightness it strong, no need to dim the lights. Magnet is strong. It’s heavy so it feels like a quality product and a plus that it can all fit in a compact case.

Not worth free.
Not even worth free. I almost kept it since it was so cheap but it’s useless. To get the laser line level you have to use a real lever and/or tape measure, then make many adjustments on the flimsy tripod legs which have no way of making measured adjustments - just individual lever locks so there’s no consistency. Yes if this thing is set without the tripod on perfectly level surface then it does project a level laser line. But it can’t be adjusted from there. The unit itself seems well made and of good quality but I ended up using a real lever and tape measure so what’s the point of having this around.

Decent Laser but Limited Due to Tripod Height
Leveling:I needed a laser level for a few projects and bought this one due to price. While the laser was bright and easy to see, the self leveling feature would only work went the unit was leveled (bubble dot on top). Given how short the tripod is, it only self leveled a few off the ground. If you needed a level line (and not just a straight line) that is roughly waste high or lower, this works. If you need a level line any higher you need to prop the tripod up on books, wood, bricks, etc. or buy a taller tripod. Due to this, I ended up returning as it did not meet my needs.

Great price point that includes a lot of accesories
For being such a cheap level I wasn't expecting much, but the carrying case, tripod, charger, and even the level itself all work great. Would buy again.
