I have just checked and although the islands are on the map they are very hard to read. I have brought this for my Grandson, and he will have difficulty reading the names.

Does this map allow you to scratch individual states in the us? or is the us one whole?

Yes you can scratch individual states but I would have preferred a larger map as A3 does not show the detail well.
