The NU-SET 2125-3 Jimmy Proof DEADBOLT LOCK is a VERRRY GOOD LOCK
This lock was very well made. The installation template included with the lock was dead-on as far as thehole pattern for all screw locations. I wouldn't have mined paying a little more for the lock if (4) long one-wayscrews had been included in the package instead of the (4) long phillips head screws. I would buy this lock again.

Good buy, quick response
Easy replacement for a very similar lock I did not have to drill any holes as existing ones were fine. Good lock for the price Cheaper than having a locksmith repair my existing lock.

Complete garbage. Lock will not function
Complete garbage. Lock will not function . You can have only one sided operation [interior]. If you bolt to door exterior key to deadbolt will not even turn. No way to get tabs to align and function together. Sliding plate on rear of lock interferes with assembly and binds function of tab from exterior of door.Called company and asked to speak with someone who could explain why something that is so simple should be so difficult. Was told by receptionist that no one is available for technical problems but she had never heard of anyone having a problem with their locks! Maybe she should read some of the reviews online about them. By the way, this is the second set I have purchased. Gave them the benefit of the doubt on the first one but did not want to pay to return it. Made the mistake of thinking since this one came from amazon I might get one that actually worked. Enough time and money wasted , I'll buy one from the big box store.

Cheap as can be...
First of all, another reviewer said, "...not what is pictured..." I didn't get the lock that was pictured either... All the pictures in the ad above show a thumb-turn knob... That's a single-cylinder lock... I didn't really pay attention to the words "double-cylinder" in THIS ad... That's a 2-key design, one inside one outside, and NO thumb-turn knob... So now I have to leave 1 of 2 keys in the inside cylinder, and get copies made for my 2 roommates... THEN, I look at the ad from the same NUSET manufacturer for their single-cylinder lock... It has a thumb-turn knob... THEY USED THE SAME PICTURES FOR BOTH PRODUCT PROFILES!!! This company NEEDS to update their pictures to avoid customer confusion... They're NOT sending out (or providing to Amazon) the locks that are pictured...I don't think a lock can get cheaper than this... 1) The entire instruction sheet is a one-sided 7"x7" paper, printed with 6-7 point text (very small), and in 3 languages... That's probably a cop-out for being "environmentally friendly", and "saving the trees"... Have a magnifying glass ready... 2) The flashing from the casting process is still in the screw holes... Granted, you won't see the flashing once the screws are in, but a quality company would've removed it... Speaking of "company", the box says "Women Owned", and "Made In China"... So, Chinese women own this company... Why waste money to make those statements?? 3) Another statement claims, "...5-pin Kwikset cylinder for added pick-resistance..." NOTHING could be further from the truth... ANY lock cylinder from Kwikset can be picked open in under 10 seconds by a lock-picker with the right tools, and minimal experience, not to mention the locks manufactured by that Big M company... They're both just catering to the non-educated-on-the-subject citizens of our planet...Don't plan on installing this lock on a Home Depot door with pre-drilled doorknob holes... It won't fit a standard doorknob hole... The plates for the outside key cylinder are much smaller, about 1-1/4"... So, I'm gonna wind up with a door with 3 locks instead of just the normal 2 - this thing, a deadbolt, and a knob with a lock... When I get home from work and my brain tells my sphincter, "...OK, start the process...", I'm gonna have to unlock 3 locks before I get to my bathroom... Queen's song "Under Pressure" comes to mind...OVERALL RATING: 2 STARS... Spend a few more buxx for quality... These locks are sub-standard to me...STURDINESS: 3 STARS... I won't know how sturdy it is until the first time someone tries to kick the door in...EASY TO INSTALL: 2 STARS: Because NO door lock or knob is easy to install... They're ALL a headache...GOOD DAY...

We had another lock like this for 30 years before it gave out but ...
We had another lock like this for 30 years before it gave out but it was a bit more stylish looking than this one.My only complaints are that it came with too small, #8, mounting screws that went into the door only 3/8 inch. I changed them out to #10 screws that went into our 1 5/8 inch solid wood door 1 1/2 inches, nearly through. The striker plate also had too small screws so I changed the two SIDE screws to 3 1/2 inches so they go deep into the jack and king studs. (drill pilot holes first). The two front striker plate mounting screws that came with the lock I used.Otherwise the lock is solid and well made and I expect another 30 years of use. (I should live so long).

Fine but not the finest.
Worked great but it feels pretty cheap. Lock works well, I'm just not too confident in the strength of the steel. I also bought a Segal bronze lock for 3X the money and you can really feel the quality difference. I may get another Segal to replace this and sell this on eBay.

SHED LOCK
I liked the fact that the lock was reverseable, i.e. the lock mechanism could be turned to open in or out. That feature saved me and this lock from having to be returned.

Next size up screws would make it perfect.
I recommend this lock, but the holes in both the lock and the strike plate are made for a larger screw (#10) which will get a better bite in a wood door making it more resistant to brute force. Since I had a supply of other screws, I ordered a second one for another door ... in other words, I recommend it, especially if you use other screws.
